AUTHOR BIO
Helen Deehan is a North East mum, inspired to write by her family's adventures over the last few years, including renovating a 400-year-old barn using eco-friendly techniques. Passionate about sustainable living, Helen's mission is to create books that enlighten, interest and excite children, especially in crucial contemporary issues that will affect their futures. Her first book 'Eco Joe' helps children learn in a fun and inspiring way about the complex global emergency that is climate change.
 
ECO CREDENTIALS FOR OUR BOOK
We chose print-on-demand book manufacturing as it essentially reduces environmental impact. Why? Well traditional offset printing usually requires large orders in anticipation of sales. Often, any books that go unsold are destroyed. This results in wasted paper, wasted energy, added greenhouse emissions, pulping, and landfill overflows. The paper supplier to our UK printer are responsibly sourced, ensuring that paper is not created from endangered old growth forests, forests of exceptional conservation value, or the Amazon Basin. Paper used to make Eco Joe is SFI, FSC or PEFC certified. In short we have made sure our book is as eco-friendly as it can possibly be!
